Kodiak Marine Construction is the North American distributor for AWT Water Jets. No one likes to be the guinea pig for a new product so KMC completely disassembled and inspected models JT272 and JT342 for engineering and workmanship. The factory was very responsive and made a number of recommended improvements. Following our requests, the factory
designed a heavy duty impeller for the Alaskan Commercial fishing industry.
KMC also designed and built a new 20' seine skiff to test the Jets. The seine skiff is powered by a 5.9 Cummins modified to produce 400 HP and the model JT272 water jet. Sea trials were conducted on the snake river near Burley Idaho, which resulted in good maneuverability, pull, and a top speed of 35 mph.
